The Soul Whale is an ocean‑rooted spiritual art practice founded by Cannace Chow, a Hong Kong–based artist inspired by freediving, the natural world, and inner journeys. Growing up in a fast‑paced coastal city, the ocean became a place of stillness — a space to slow down, listen, and return inward.
Through freediving, Cannace’s work is shaped by moments beneath the surface, where breath, body, and deep sensation come into focus. This state of presence forms the foundation of her ocean and cosmic creations. Whales appear repeatedly in her work as symbols of deep wisdom, memory, protection, and timeless connection, while the cosmos reflects the same vast, flowing nature of life.
Working as a full‑time artist, Cannace extends her practice beyond paintings into oracle cards, journals, and other ocean‑inspired creations.
